Drift Masters throws standard racing rules out the window, focusing on the act of drifting within a realistic 3D world. Your major goal is to master the steering wheel, keeping your balance and making the smoothest and longest drifts possible, all in a limited time. You are not competing for speed or trying to pass other racers; instead, your goal is to drift.
The approach speed alone will not get you the correct drift. When you reach a bend, you need to carefully work your steering inputs, counter-steering to avoid spinning, and the handbrake at just the right moment to start the slide. Chain many drifts into a combo and keep the momentum going, and your score will grow in no time. But perfection comes at a price: the tiniest collision with a barrier at the side of the track will wipe out your whole score and any awards earned during that lap.
The tracks come in a wide variety of racing courses, from wide sweeping curves for novices to hazardous hairpin turns; you will need to keep upgrading your vehicle. Long, sustained drifts can be utilised to gain gold to unlock new supercars, each with better engine power, grip and braking. Plus, you can completely customise the look and technical specs of your car. You may change paint colours, swap out rims or tune the suspension and design a drift machine that is all yours.
W / Up Arrow: Accelerate.
S / Down Arrow: Brake.
A, D / Left, Right Arrows: Steer. Left Shift / Left Ctrl: Shift up / Shift down.
Space: Pull the handbrake to initiate a drift.
F: Activate NOS for a burst of speed.
G: Activate slow-motion mode.
I: Start or turn off the engine.
L / K: Toggle low-beam/high-beam headlights.
C: Cycle through different camera angles.
